The Goliath –a remote-controlled tracked mine– in action. The operator manoeuvred the Goliath using a joystick and could detonate a big charge of high explosives direct to where it was needed, be it enemy fortification, tanks, troops, buildings, bridges and other obstacles. Radio-controlled by radio waves or a wire connection, it could strike from a distance of 600 to 1,000 metres. Would be a frightening sight as it rumbled towards you with its deadly payload!
